Hillsboro 1J School Board, Position 4
Re-elected May 19, 2015
As a long time volunteer and education advocate, I am proud of my
first term as a Hillsboro School Board Director. Over the last four
years I have continued to promote what’s best for students as I
helped shape budgets, improved policies and worked to meet our
district’s mission. Despite budgetary constraints, we have made
great strides in our district in recent years with:

Increased graduation rates

Improved results for English language learners and underserved
populations
-
Additional investments in our STEAM programs
-
Advancements in College and Career Pathways for our students,
including increased business partnerships
-
Expanded educational options for students
We have a distinct opportunity in our community to continue this
trajectory and meet our goals of providing the highest quality
education for all our students. I pledge to continue to keep students
at the core of my decisions. I will continue to gather information,
ask tough questions and seek out feedback from a variety of sources.
I will engage all members of our community – students, parents,
teachers and residents. I will continue to be a responsible steward
of our public resources and make sure we are getting the most of our
funding with the greatest impact for students.
I am excited to continue serving the district in this work. Thank you
for your support and re-electing me for a second term.
